2017 Chilifest Lineup

Chilifest made their official 2017 lineup announcement tonight at The Tap. We caught up with 2017 Chilifest Chairman Hank Kuehler to find out a little bit more about what you can expect from Chilifest in 2017.

MW: You have a great lineup this year. Tell us about the headliner.

HK: I was so excited when I heard that Lynyrd Skynyrd was going to be able to play. They are a legendary rock band. I can’t wait to hear them live.

MW: How did you get Lynyrd Skynyrd to come play Chilifest?

HK: We work with a booking agent out of Dallas that we have been working with for a long time. He has some great connections. I told him from the very beginning that is who I wanted because I love their music personally. We recently had Hank Williams and last year was supposed to be ZZ Top. So I wanted to continue that old school trend. He came back a few weeks later and said it was going to work.

MW: What charities are you working closely with this year for Chilifest?

HK: We work with a lot of different charities. The ones we are working closely with this year are Burleson County Go Texan, that is where our main volunteers come from. Of course Boys and Girls Club is another huge charity that we donate to. We are open to partnering with anyone. If you have an organization and you want to come help us out we would love to talk to you about working with you.

MW: Are there any changes people can expect from last year?

HK: One big happening this year is the “Chilifest Village” that will be a separate ticket. It is a new ticket option we are unveiling this year. Purchasing the Chilifest Village ticket grants you access to a special tent setup. There will be food and beverages provided. It is similar to the VIP area but it won’t be stage side. Last year we sold out of VIP tickets and hope that happens again. So this is a great option that will be a little less expensive than the VIP tickets.
