Hip-hop/rap artist Drake released his highly anticipated album, “More Life” on March 18. The release is branded as a playlist rather than album, but it quickly soared to the #1 top album on ITunes.
The conceptual playlist is different than his previous releases and includes a mix of pop, club trap, and ambient R&B. You might not find all 22 songs on the album to be a hit, but with such a broad range of tunes, you are likely to find a few favorite jams. The opener to the album, “Free Smoke” and the smooth disco song, “Passionfruit” have already proven to be some of the most popular tracks from the playlist. Drake consistently uses global beats and international artists to carry most of the weight throughout “More life.” Drake also employs popular rap artists: 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Young Thug, Sampha, and Travis Scott along with lesser known artists, Jorja Smith and DJ Black Coffee. Yeezus fans will go crazy over his collaboration with Drake in the song, “Glow.”
“More Life” provides Drake fans with a conceptual playlist filled with diverse tunes and talented collaborators and won’t be something you’ll want to miss.
