ALBUM REVIEW: “The Weight of These Wings” by Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert fans have anticipated this release since her last album, and it has not disappointed. This two-disc album features 24 songs, each unique and true to the Miranda Lambert we have all known and loved for years. Due to the recent divorce of beloved country music couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, those anticipating the album expected the themes Lambert focuses on. Although the album never wallows in the pain of heartbreak, there are songs about moving on, flirting, getting drunk, and making plans. Some expect a few throw away songs to be mixed in a 24-track album, but each track is packed full of meaning if listeners take time to find it.
