Wolf Pen Creek is hosting the Ducky Derby this weekend, which is a guaranteed way to entertain all ages and create some memories with friends and family. Enjoy a concert while competing for a few great prizes, while spending time outdoors on April 8.
During the Starlight Music Series Concert, The Children’s Museum of Brazos Valley’s Ducky Derby will be one of the best events of the spring. Presented by Delta Kappa Epsilon, this day is sure to be a fun time for all ages. Come adopt a duck, or two, or three and watch them race – you might just be the winner of a multitude of prizes to be offered!
Similar to a raffle, each duck that you adopt will be assigned a number that correlates with your name, and the first three ducks to cross the finish line placed in Wolf Pen Creek will win! The grand prize for first place is a $1,000 gift card to the store of the winners choice, second place is to receive a $250 gift card to HEB, and third wins Chick Fil A free for one whole year!
On top of the fun for everyone in the family, all proceeds will benefit the Children’s Museum Brazos Valley. The Children’s Museum has been welcoming visitors since the mid-1990s and strives to provide a hands-on environment that encourages learning and new discoveries for children of all ages.
Races are to start at 6pm, on Saturday, April 8 at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. Per duck, adoption fees are $10. You can also adopt a “Six Quack,” a set of six ducks, for $50 and also available, is a “Quakers Dozens,” a set of thirteen ducks, for $100.
Please visit The Children’s Museum of Brazos Valley’s website at www.cmbv.org to adopt ducks or call the museum. Those who adopt ducks and enter the race do not need to present in order to collect a prize.
This will be a fun and different way to spend time with loved ones while getting in the competitive spirit with your favorite billed quackers.
