Come and Take It Productions presents Musicians For Michigan – Bottled Water Drive on Friday, March 31 at Grand Stafford Theater in Bryan starting at 6:30pm.
The water crisis in Flint, Michigan started in 2011 when residents began complaining about discoloration in their water. Lead poisoning, skin lesions, and memory loss were just a few effects of the water quality and the situation is still being resolved. Over 100,000 residents were potentially exposed to this contaminated water and the city declared state of emergency in January of last year.
Musicians For Michigan, a bottled water and canned good drive, will fully benefit those affected by the water crisis and will present seven different local artists. The drive is hosted by Come and Take It Productions, LLC which is based out of Austin provides a full event production and promotion service and will put on the following:
Wartime Afternoon will take the stage at 6:30 pm. followed by, A Deathbed Promise, Lifedeath, Under Subsidence, Second Runner Up, From The Messenger, and Anything Twice. Everything wraps up at around 11:30pm
Four man indie-folk alternative rock band Wartime Afternoon got its start in 2014 and founded in Bryan/College Station will kick off the drive before the alternative punk rock band from Bryan, A Deathbed Promise.
Lifedeath, Under Subsidence, and Second Runner Up will follow. Second Runner Up performed at 2016’s South By Southwest festival, so you won’t want to miss them. 2016 MACT Metal Band of the Year, From The Messenger, and Anything Twice will close things out starting at 10:45 pm.
Admission is $10 without a canned good or case of bottled water and just $5 with at least 10 canned goods or a case of bottled water.
