It’s that time of year again. Trees are lit and on display. Malls are filled with shoppers trying to find the perfect gift. Stockings are hung by the chimney with care.
And that man from the North Pole is finalizing his “Naughty or Nice” list.
Of course, he’s not the only one with such a list, and Aggieland will soon be visited by a couple of jolly performers when Parker McCollum and Koe Wetzel visit Hurricane Harry’s on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
The stop is part of the two act Naughty or Nice Tour, which kicked off on Dec. 3 and runs through Dec. 13. McCollum and Wetzel will hit up eight venues across the Lone Star State as they fill crowds with holiday cheer in their own unique way.
McCollum, sometimes considered a child protégé in country music, first started playing at the age of 16 in hometown venues. The Houston-area native relocated to Austin for college, where he continued to perform local gigs before releasing his first single in 2013 at the age of 21. This first studio album, “The Limestone Kid,” was released in 2015, propelling his career even further toward success.
Wetzel, an East Texas native, first picked up a guitar at the age of 12, but it took awhile for music to become his focus. Wetzel’s success on the football and baseball fields in high school led him to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where he began his college career as part of the Texan football team. However, in 2012, he dropped out of school to focus on this true passion: music. He formed a band, Koe Wetzel & the Konvicts, and released an EP in June 2012.
McCollum and Wetzel complement each other in many ways, most notably vocally. Listening to the song “Love” on Wetzel’s album “Noise Complaint” showcases just how well the two mesh.
And you couldn’t ask for a better venue to see this show. Harry’s consistently brings a fantastic crowd and an amazing environment. The Naughty or Nice Tour is going to be a must see.
