One of Aggieland’s favorite backyard breweries, New Republic Brewery, is gearing up for another fun weekend full of local artists, great food, and delicious beer. Glen Tate will be kicking off the weekend on Thursday, March 23 at 7pm.
Glen Tate is a Brazos Valley based singer-songwriter. Tate studied music education at Sam Houston State University and fronted a power pop ensemble called the Shortbus Superheros. The group released three full-length albums before Tate transitioned to classic metal and released his first solo album, “Silly Love Songs.” He also fronts a local pop group called Anything Twice, which hosts the longest running open mic in the Bryan, Texas area.
Beer will be served from 5pm-10pm and Big EZ BBQ will be available from 6pm-10pm. Tate will take the stage at 7pm.
On Friday, unique and high-energy band, Iron Rations will grace the stage of New Republic Brewery. Their combination of alternative country, blues, rock, gospel, and pop has forged their own genre of music lovingly known as “Texas Music.” Their unique sound allows them to stand out from the crowd and will be the perfect soundtrack to your Friday night.
This dynamic performance from Iron Rations will be best enjoyed with some Blake’s Steaks offered from 6-10pm and refreshing beer served 5-10pm. Get there early for $1 off pints from 5-6pm.
Emily Cole and Keith Kallina will be performing on Saturday to close out the weekend’s festivities. Emily Cole is an inspiring independent artist who will be performing from 12-4pm on Saturday. Her sound is centered around the keys and her ukelele. Keith Kallina will offer up his unique sound blending blues, rock, and country from 6-10pm.
