Moms and dads of furry four-legged pets are welcome to attend the “Paint Your Own Pet” theme night at Pinot’s Palette in College Station. This paint and sip studio invites pet lovers on to learn how to paint a portrait of their furry loved one on Thursday, September 14.
Formally named Pinot and Picasso, the first Pinot’s Palette affiliated studio opened up in the spring of 2009, in the unique and creative Montrose neighborhood of Houston, Texas. Just a year later, the company grew into a franchise, and it now has studios all across the country, including a location here in the Brazos Valley.
Pinot’s Palette offers in-studio painting lessons and private parties for those 21 years or older. Customers are allowed to bring their own wine or cocktails and socialize while they are taught step-by-step how to canvas paint.
The local art studio has partnered with Long Way Home Adoptables to host their most popular fundraising event, “Project Pet: Paint Your Pet.” Long Way Home Adoptables is a nonprofit organization that works solely with animal shelters to help save the lives of small cats and dogs from euthanasia.
This organization is a group of animal loving volunteers, who rescue and foster pets that are at risk of being “put down.” They take on animals that are at risk due to lack of space in shelters or because the animal has serious health conditions.
Long Way Adoptables believes that all shelter animals should have a chance at a loving home. Fully funded by donations, the organization often teams up with other local businesses to promote the awareness of needy shelter animals, and they hope to gain more support from the community.
For this event, the artists at Pinot Palette ask participants to send the photo they would like to paint in advance. The staff will sketch the portrait on a 16”X20” canvas to prepare you for a sip and paint experience.
Pinot’s Palette will generously donate $22 per painting at the “Project Pet: Paint Your Pet” event to help Long Way Adoptables continue saving shelter pets’ lives.
The ticket cost is $58 per painter, and the event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. You must reserve your spot by registering online through Pinot Palette’s website, under the event calendar for September.
