Spending your hard-earned money traveling to extravagant music festivals can be fun, but you can get a similar experience to hold you over right here in your own area. MSC Town Hall, a premier concert programming committee on the Texas A&M campus, strives to provide students and other BCS residents with unique concerts and events that promote local talent and engage the community. “The 12th Jam Musical Festival” is back again with a lineup of live music, food trucks and a social experience that is sure to be a great time.
“The 12th Jam” will feature a lineup of indie, alternative, folk and hip-hop artists. To embrace the nature of music festivals everywhere, MSC Town Hall will have two stages set up, so listeners can check out as much new music as possible for free.
There are some rad local acts scheduled to play simultaneously, festival style. The main stage will feature Vacationer, Coast Modern, Odd Folks and Wartime Afternoon.
The smaller stage will feature JC Juice with HYAH!, Christian Sparks and the Beatnik Bandits, Claiming Neptune and LUCA.
Enjoy new music while trying out local food trucks like Donut Darlin’ and Waffle Station. Donut Darlin’ is a tiny trailer where mini specialty donuts are made by TAMU Construction Science student Taylor Laney. Waffle Station regularly sits on Northgate right across from Shiner Park. Indulge in carb-loaded foods and possibly get a sugar high from locally made mini donuts and College Station’s most popular waffles.
Curious Collections, a locally owned used/new vinyl record store, will be selling vinyl records at the event. Check out new music and get recommendations from people who really know music.
“The 12th Jam Musical Festival” is a free music experience that will take place at the LAAH Field, on the campus of Texas A&M, on March 4th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. No need for tickets. Just get to campus and join in on the fun.
