Weddings can be times of great joy, but we all know planning one is usually stressful in the extreme and can bring out the worst in everyone. Just imagine the turmoil if you wanted to invite your birth dad but found out by reading your mom’s diary there were THREE possible candidates for that role. So what’s a girl to do? Easy. Make it a destination wedding, slap some classic 70s rock tunes on for a cool backdrop soundtrack for your special weekend, and invite all three men. Done. Oh, but don’t tell mom you invited all three.

That’s how the curtain opens for the Theatre Company’s final production of season 31, “Mamma Mia!” In this musical love story to end all love stories, complete with songs by the iconic Swedish pop group ABBA, comedy abounds, and you’ll leave with a new appreciation for both the power of ABBA and the power of love.

From the big screen to stages all over the world and now to Bryan/College Station, audiences have loved this fun romantic-comedy originally written as a book by Catherine Johnson. In fact, so many audiences have loved this comedy, it has played in over 50 countries and over 60 million people have seen it. And that doesn’t include the movie starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth.
