Hey Marty McFly, looking for a time warp?
Big hair, bright lights, and bigger sound: that’s the Velcro Pygmies, Aggieland’s favorite classic rock cover band. The Pygmies will be back in College Station this month, bringing their authenticly-covered classic 80’s hits to Boulevard 217 on Thursday, September 17th.
The band is made up of four larger-than-life characters. Cam—Mr. Personality—on lead vocals. He’s backed up by Chris—the drumstick samurai—on drums, Chase—the Ace—on guitar, and Jacob—the lady’s man—on bass. They’ll be preforming everyone’s favorite hits from the days of black Trans Ams and parachute jumpsuits—or maybe it’s hairspray fog and denim jackets. Whatever screams 1985 for you and makes you reminisce on the hits of Van Halen, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, and Poison, these guys will bring it to the stage. If the hair-metal or Axl Rose sing-alongs aren’t quite enough for you, the Pygmies are also pros at the other classics—with the hits like “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Jessie’s Girl,” and “Forget You This Thursday Night.”
Simply put, these guys come through town every few months, and for good reason. They put on a one-of-a-kind show that you have to experience at least once. They’re a shift in gears from the usual talent that strolls through town and no one ever leaves disappointed.
