Straight from the Broadway stage, famous magician act The Illusionists are coming to Rudder Theatre on October 18 and 19 to dazzle the Brazos Valley.
The Illusionists, a Broadway magic show, is comprised of eight illusionists that are blowing minds and shattering box office records all over the country and they are dropping by College Station. Each illusionist has his or her own “thing” that they are a master in, so this won’t be your typical birthday party slight-of-hand deal.
The Anti-Conjuror, Dan Sperry, specializes in shock illusions. His tricks have landed him on many hit television shows and he is currently one of the top ten most Googled people in the world. He combines magic with the macabre to consistently amaze audiences.
The Inventor, Kevin James, specializes in magic innovation. James is extremely original in his performances and as a result, his ideas have made their way into the shows of other famous magicians.
The Weapon Master, Ben Blaque, is exactly what one would expect him to be: a master of weapons. He consistently performs acts that are as dangerous as they are mind-blowing. His signature performance includes the use of a crossbow to shoot objects supported by his assistant.
The Deductionist, Colin Cloud, is seemingly all knowing. He has been dubbed “one of the greatest thought readers of all time” by famous mind reader Uri Geller. His talents are mind-blowing as he reads people like a book, guessing what they had lunch for the day, the PIN code to their phone, and just about anything else.
The Futurist, Adam Trent, specializes in technology illusions. He enjoys taking classic magic techniques and mixing them up with technology, comedy, and even some dancing. He shatters stereotypes every night when he takes the stage.
The Trickster, Jeff Hobson, specializes in comedy magic. He is known for his glamour and showmanship and always leaves the audience laughing all night long. So at least you’ll be enjoying not knowing how he does what he does.
The Escapologist, Andrew Basso, specializes in death defying acts that include escapes everywhere from underwater to 150 feet in the air. He escapes within seconds and leaves the audience in utter disbelief.
Finally, the Manipulator, Yu Ho-Jin, has been dubbed the manipulator of mystery and wonder. He is the epitome of the phrase “now you see it, now you don’t.” He was the 2014 Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts and continues to amaze every time he takes the stage.
Tickets to this magical extravaganza run between $22 and $80 and can be purchased online or from the MSC Box Office inside Rudder Tower.
