Wanting to cook cuisine that will shamrock your world? Attend Messina Hof Winery and Resort’s March Cooking Party, “St. Patrick’s Day,” on March 17 from 1-3 p.m., and you will learn how to create delicious Irish dishes at home with a little help from the Messina Hof chef himself.
Cuisine connoisseurs of all skill levels are invited to take part in this event—no luck needed. “We make sure that we are showcasing meals that anyone can make,” says Sarah Fite, Messina Hof Designer Event Coordinator. “You do get to take home a cookbook, and you can ask the chef questions to make sure that you are able to recreate the Irish cuisine at home,” she adds. Guests will also have the opportunity to register to win culinary door prizes during the event. Door prizes include Messina Hof chef-made jam, fruit and retail center goodies, says Fite.
The “St. Patrick’s Day” Cooking Party serves as an attractive entertainment option for community members looking to celebrate. “This is an event where people can come and enjoy one another and receive a one-on-one experience with the chef,” says Fite. “They can enjoy the fruits of their labor.”
The menu for the cooking party will feature Saint Patrick’s Day themed dishes and Messina Hof wine in a three-course fashion. The first course will consist of a small green salad drizzled in Messina Hof’s Serenity vinaigrette, and a ham and cheddar scone served with Dry Riesling 2017. A traditional Irish boiled dinner of corned beef brisket cured in-house will serve as the main dish, accompanied with steamed red potatoes, cabbage, baby carrots with pan jus and Private Reserve Merlot 2016. Guests will end the meal on a sweet note as they enjoy Irish apple cake topped with an Angel vanilla custard sauce and paired with Texas Sparkling Moscato 2015.
All ages are welcome to attend, but guests under the age of 21 will be served sparkling grape juice instead of wine, adds Fite. Tickets are $69.95 plus tax and gratuity, and can be purchased on the Messina Hof Winery and Resort website at https://bit.ly/2.
