4 steps to the perfect Matte Lip
The infamous matte lip is something that has become a staple in the makeup world. It is a must have for all nighters, wedding pictures, or long work shifts and something I frequently use on clients. However, this here-to-stay trend can be tricky. Here are a few pro tips for the perfect Matte Lip
- Exfoliate: beneficial for the rest of your skin, exfoliating in the winter helps prevent dryness and renews the skin. Use a sugar scrub specifically for the mouth area. Gently rub over lips using a warm rag to remove dead skin. Try Bliss Fabulips for $18
- Moisturize lightly with a chapstick like Blistex to lock in moisture. Try Burt’s Bees Coconut & Pear Moisturizing Lip Balm for $2.97
- Line lips with a liner similar to your lip color, this will help prevent bleeding. Try Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil for $20
- Add your lip color and make sure to drag softly on top of liner. For an ombre effect, you can add a lighter lipstick shade in the center and rub lips together.
