The City of College Station hosts the 2017 Senior Games on February 24-26. The Senior Games allows ages 50+ to compete in a variety of sports including track and field, swimming, basketball, cycling, golf, badminton, horseshoes and more. These senior athletes of all skill levels will have the opportunity to show off their abilities in as many sports as they choose. The city is currently estimating that the Senior Games will have 400 participants!
Spectators are welcomed and encouraged at every event. However, if you choose to watch the pickleball games you will have to pay for parking as the event is hosted in the PEAP building on Texas A&M’s campus. Venues and times for all events can be found online, along with information regarding inclement weather.
On Saturday, February 25 at 6pm, all Senior Games participants and their guests are invited to attend a reception at the Museum of the American G.I., located at 19124 Hwy 6 South. The reception will include a buffet style meal, a D.J. and a dance floor. Participants will have the chance to win some awesome door prizes and to tour the museum.
The Brazos Valley Senior Games bring together members of the community in a fun-spirited competition. Registration for the games might be closed, but it isn’t too late to sign up as a volunteer!
