KEOS, 89.1FM is thanking everyone who has supported them over the last twenty years by celebrating Volunteer Jam in a spectacular way.

The concert will take place on October 4 at the Lake Bryan Ice House and will host plenty of local talent. Volunteer Jam is an annual fundraiser for the radio station and while concertgoers enjoy music they can also bid on items at the silent auction.

The lineup starts off with John Prihoda at noon and continues with Brooke Graham and Manzy Lowry. Don’t miss singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix play with Lloyd Maines at 3:00pm, followed by Mark Jungers, Susan Gibson, and the Texas-legend Larry Joe Taylor capping it off at 6:00pm.

KEOS is a non-profit, non-commercial community radio run completely by volunteers and pays the bills through donations. KEOS has their own style, one that is unique because they aren’t pigeon-holed to one genre of music. Their playlist is based off of what volunteers believe the community would like to hear, ranging from rock and roll, blues and country. The station’s talk shows are said to have a more democratic stand, an unusual choice for the conservative town they are based in. They pride themselves on playing music and giving views that you would not normally hear on mainstream radio.

The Volunteer Jam is a fun way for listeners to donate so the station can continue. The suggested donation for attending the event is $15, a small price to pay for an afternoon of country music. Be sure to venture out to Lakeside Icehouse to have a beer with your friends, listen to some great music, get out and meet new people, and support the KEOS cause.
