Memorial day is just around the corner and you know what that means… all the summer festivities are here!

Although lots of people travel during Memorial Day weekend, there’s plenty to do for those that stay here. This year, come celebrate Memorial Day at Century Square!

Perfect for hanging out with the kids and friends, there’ll be hands on activities filling the entire day, starting with a petting zoo from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., directly in front of The Green. The Green itself will be filled with the usual fun yard games like corn hole, giant jenga and giant checkers! There will also be face painting artists on site, so the little tots can get a custom butterfly or lightning bolt on their cheek. After that, they can get a hand-crafted balloon animal, whichever animal is their favorite!

For food, Century Square is stocked with excellent eateries including Hopdoddy, Blaze, Sweet Paris, Poppy and many more. Whether you’re feeling the need for a burger, a high quality steak, pizza or a sweet crepe, Century Square’s got it all. After grabbing a bite to eat, there’s endless shops and boutiques with lots of summer gifts.

As the evening goes on and the hustle and bustle dies down, at 5 p.m. listen to the Brazos Valley Chorale, and then from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Jordan Nix and The Day Drinkers. The concert is family friendly, so the kids can run about The Green while you sip on a lemonade or iced coffee.

Memorial Day weekend is usually filled with traditions, so it might be time to make this a new one!
