Fall River, Massachusetts was the home of Lizzie Borden, the suspected murderess who took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks. Bringing the infamous legend to life, Lifetime Network produced the intriguing movie “Lizzie Borden Took An Ax,” detailing Lizzie’s horrifying crime from her moment of rage to her eventual acquittal by a jury of peers.
“The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” is a continuation of the movie, Lizzie and her sister Emma attempting to move on from the dreadful event; however, a number of unfortunate situations are slowing their progress. Lizzie won’t stand for that. She’s a manipulative, assertive, and cold-blooded woman ready to take control of her life, and she won’t let anyone stand in her way. Even if that means getting her hands bloody once more.
While the movie draws on known historical facts, the show adopts a purely fictional point of view, creating a path of twists and turns you’ll never expect. Leading you down this path is Christina Ricci, who flawlessly adopts the devious demeanor of the deceptively harmless Lizzie. Her innocent appearance is the perfect mask for the monster hidden inside Lizzie Borden, and she fits right in amongst the blood and death in Fall River, Massachusetts.
