LISTEN UP metalheads and non metalheads alike: What’s cooler than hearing a guitar riff or a pounding bass? Feeling it! Come out to the Grand Stafford Theater on Jan 26 to support live music locals Wellborn Road with KHAN, Iron Slut, and Snake Skin Prison.
The Grand Stafford Theater welcomes Wellborn Road back, a southern metal band originally formed in College Station in 2005. The group consists of Jose Diaz on bass, Tyler Tracy on guitar, Scott Emanis on vocals, and recent addition Phillip Pound on drums. They’ve worked their way up from just a group of friends getting together to play some shows to recording albums and performing with live bands from all around the state. Tyler and Scott were friends since they grew up alongside one another in Kingswood, Tx. And even with Scott in the Navy and Tyler working for Texas A&M, they’d still manage to meet up and practice songs that Tyler would write. Eventually they started performing shows and now have a fan squad known as the “Brew Crew.” Their first album “Home” was released in 2008 and their latest release is called “From Silence to Strength.”
These boys will be collaborating with Snake Skin Prison, a hillbilly hard rock group from Austin, KHAN, a metalcore band from Sherman, Texas, and Iron Slut, a stoner rock group from the B/CS area.
You can keep up with all of these Texas rockers on social media, primarily Facebook, where they post a head’s up for their shows as well as links to purchase their music.
You don’t have to be hardcore to attend, just into having some fun! The event will take place Jan 26 at the Grand Stafford Theater in Bryan. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8 p.m. $10 CASH ONLY at the door.
