The Republican Party of Brazos County will be welcoming Texas Governor Greg Abbott as the keynote speaker at this years’ GOP Reagan Day Dinner. Staying informed about the people representing you is important to ensure your power as an American voter. Attending local events, such as this one, are a great way to engage in your government right from your backyard.

President Ronald Reagan once said “Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.” Each year, county Republican Parties across Texas honor the 40th President of the United States at the GOP Reagan Day Dinner/Fundraiser. The keynote speaker at the event changes each year, and the Republican Party of Brazos County is proud to have our Texas Governor as the guest of honor this year.

Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, is currently campaigning for re-election for his second term in office. Following his first term, Abbott is known for his conservative views and his passion for preserving values of faith, family and freedom. Prior to his election in 2104, Abbott served as the longest-serving Attorney General of Texas, a Justice on the Texas Supreme Court and as a State District Judge in Harris County. As Attorney General, he defended religious liberty and worked to protect Texas communities and children.

During his first term as Texas Governor, Abbott worked on legislation banning sanctuary cities, reforming the child protective system, supporting early and higher education and limiting regulations on businesses. He also focused on pro-life legislation as well as gender-specific bathrooms.

For many people, hearing their governor speak in person is a rarity. If you would like to take advantage of the opportunity, you can purchase general seating tickets for $65 at the 2018 RPBC Reagan Day Dinner with Governor Greg Abbott Eventbrite page hosted by the Republican Party of Brazos County. The event will be from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. March 16th at the Brazos Center.
