After the explosive hit single “Havana,” Cuban singer-songwriter Camila Cabello has released her debut album “Camila.” Cabello was formerly a member of the pop group Fifth Harmony, which came into the limelight after competing in the televised singing competition “The X-Factor” in 2012. But she’s begun her solo career by collaborating with artists such as Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly.

This pop album features latin and R&B influences, along with themes of heartache, new love, and friendship. Additionally, the songs cover a variety of genres. “She Loves Control” has the same Reggae feel that “Havana” had, while “Real Friends” and “All These Years” are more like acoustic ballads. The album has the feel-good beats that are expected from a pop album, while still talking about heartbreak.

The album showcases her versatility and ability to effortlessly switch between styles. It was disappointing to see the lack of artist collaborations in the album, but, nevertheless, Cabello is an artist to watch in 2018.
