Halloween is a spooky time of year, full of scares, frights and candy. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still find the time to show your person you love them. Bryan/College Station is full of great opportunities to go on a date and still celebrate the Halloween holiday.
Nothing says love like wine. Nothing says spooky like a cellar. That means the perfect Halloween date will take place at the Messina Hof Spooky Cellar Tour on Friday, October 26. Couples can take a tour of the estate while learning the history of the winery. Tour guides will be on hand to share tales and folklore of the area. Attendees can learn how Messina Hof grows and ferments their grapes to produce their award-winning wines. Four different varieties will be on hand for couples to taste directly from tanks and barrels. Special Halloween labeled wines will be available to purchase. The tour begins at 6:30 and tickets cost $25.
Problem solving is crucial in a relationship. The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Corn Maze offers an opportunity for couples to work together in a fun environment. Located on F&B Road, the event includes a corn maze, pumpkin and vegetable patch and farm equipment demonstrations. The attraction is only open on weekends, and is subject to cancellation due to weather. Tickets are $7, so it’s a relatively inexpensive way to spend time with your loved one.
A frightful situation is a great way to bring two people closer together, and haunted houses are a great source of terror. The Monster’s Bash and Haunted House takes place on Thursday, October 25, at the Lincoln Recreation Center on Eleanor Street in College Station. Activities will include the haunted house, carnival games and a special Michael Jackson “Thriller” dance presented by Ray Brooks of POP entertainment. The event is free, and doors open at 5:30.
