As always, there will be food, drinks and entertainment, including a special performance by the New Orleans band Hazy Ray. Sit down at a restaurant or if you’re feeling more casual, pick something up at a food truck. Enjoy drink specials while you kick back and listen to local sounds on the streets.
Christmas is around the corner and First Friday is a great time to look for presents for family and friends. Downtown Bryan offers everything from the latest in fashion to unique antiques. There is sure to be something for everyone on your list this holiday season.
Head over to the Grand Stafford Theatre to listen to Hazy Ray, doors open at 7pm and the music will begin at 8pm. The band is a mix of rock with bluesy sounds they picked up from the New Orleans scene, a signature sound they now brand as “New Orleans Rock.” The band has a large range of influences from Jamie Cullum and Dave Matthews to Radiohead and Maroon 5. The band has a special connection with the BCS area, and say they always enjoy coming to the town where it all began. Mike Hayes, who plays the trombone and sings for the band, grew up in the area and both Ryan Patrick, lead guitar, and Sean Rodriguez, bass, attended Texas A&M. The band frequently comes to the area and recently played at the Texas Reds Festival and the Grand Stafford Theatre at the Fourth of July.
