It’s hard to name a show that has been as polarizing or captivating as HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” From gifs to memes to Halloween costumes, “Game of Thrones” cultural references have become an interesting and entertaining part of society.
While winter may have already come to Aggieland, leaving the show on a break, “Game of Thrones” fans can still enjoy themselves, thanks to Blackwater Draw Brewing Company. The local favorite is hosting a “Game of Thrones” trivia night on January 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.
“Game of Thrones” fans of all ages can test their knowledge of their favorite show. Teams of five will compete in eight rounds of “Game of Thrones” trivia. Players can purchase tickets separately and form teams upon arrival, or come prepared with their own house. There will be 10 questions per round. Once all rounds are completed, the two teams with the most points accumulated will advance to the winner-takes-all speed round.
Haven’t read the books? Don’t stress. Hop online and watch the fourth season of “Game of Thrones,” as all questions will cover content from the television show, not the novels.
Cheaters be warned, you will be eliminated. I would assume the consequences would be similar to the Red Wedding, but I can’t say for sure.
Players must show up on time. Round 1 begins at 7 p.m. sharp. Late arrivals will not be allowed to compete, nor will their tickets be refunded. Players under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Both will have to purchase tickets to compete.
What’s at stake? Pride of course. But there will also be a prize basket full of “Game of Thrones” themed items, to materialize your success.
Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hbos-game-of-thrones-trivia-bryan-tickets-39859021406?aff=efbeventtix.
Grab your sword, your pet direwolf and your friends and head on over to Blackwater Draw. It’s sure to be an entertaining time.
