It’s that time of year again—the sun is coming out but the temperature is staying just right. With a high of 81 degrees, there’s no better place to be this Friday than New Republic Brewery to see Nate Grant take the stage. Head on out to New Republic’s taproom on February 9th from 5-10 for a guaranteed good time.
Grant’s smooth voice and polished music make the perfect ambiance for any night—especially under the starts with a beer in hand. There’s more to Grant’s music than a pretty voice, though. Grant not only started late in his music career—his mid 30’s—but he also started with nothing. While chasing his new dream he lived out of his car and took showers in whatever gas station sink he could find. An experience like that truly shows itself in music, and Grant isn’t an exception. His lyrics are raw and emotional, and his songs are exactly what you want to hear on calm night out.
Grant’s sound is somewhat like that of Graham Colton, the musician who gave him the kick-start he needed in the beginning of his career. The two met when Graham was playing with Green River Ordinance at a club. Grant had arrived early to watch the sound check and ended up talking with Graham. After a couple of phone-recorded demos four years later, Graham produced Grant’s first EP and the rest is history. Grant is continuing to climb in his career, with his EP now gaining radio interest.
His EP features five songs, “Everything,” “For You,” “Heart Around,” “Let Me Go,” and “Outshine the Stars.” Each song is slow yet passionate, featuring acoustic guitar and rock layers. Every lyric tells a story in colorful, warm tones. All in all, a night with great craft beer and Nate Grant on the mic is the perfect way to close down the week.
