With the spring semester upon many of us, there is always a need for a stress reliever and what better of a way than to dive into a new series or curl up to watch an oldie, but nevertheless a goody? For those of you that are looking a new show to dive into, we’ve got you covered.

“A series of Unfortunate Events”

This Netflix Original is categorized under adventure, drama, and family, and it closely mirrors the movie that came out in 2004. The star of the show is Neil Patrick Harris, who dons the character of Count Olaf, the closest living family member to the Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus, and Sonny- three orphans due to a fire in their home. The eight episodes that make season one follow the many misadventures of the Baudelaire children as they continue to evade Count Olaf as he plots to steal their fortune.

“Zootopia”

Targeted towards the younger generation, “Zootopia” follows the adventures of a rookie cop as she defeats all of the odds against her in her new town. With the help of an unlikely friend, she succeeds and continues to follow her dream of making the streets of “Zootopia” safe for all. Wholesome movie for all ages – especially those who may feell down on their luck and need a confidence booster.

“Degrassi; Next Class”

If you loved the OG “Degrassi,” then this might just be the show for you. Another Netflix original, “Degrassi: Next Class” is headed into season three. Fall in love with fresh faces as they battle issues in Degrassi Community School that every high school student can relate to. This proves to be perfect for someone looking to spend some time on a series, yet still keep the ties to the show that made us fall in love with Drake, before he was Drake.

For those that have waited for the oldies to make their Netflix debut, the month of January has given you just that; movies from the sixties to the eighties are available with the click of a mouse. The following are just a taste:

“The Parent Trap” (1961) , “The Shining” (1980), and “CaddyShack” (1980).
