The oldest Aggie owned and operated microbrewery in Aggieland, New Republic Brewing Company, has been crafting up some of the tastiest beer for almost seven years since its doors opened in 2010. Not only is it known for providing some of the best local live music, but also for hosting fundraisers and even scavenger hunts. New Republic’s hand crafted beers can be found in a handful of bars and grocery stores in Bryan/College Station and throughout Houston.
While the brewery is known for hosting several up-and-coming artists in its taproom, this spring it’s unrolling the red carpet to Hollywood. Movies at the Brewery is this spring’s addition to the festivities at the taproom. Classic cinemas, brewed beer, and local food trucks are in store for those visiting the BCS brewery.
Movie Night at the Taproom begins Thursday, April 13th with the Dreamworks “Megamind” at 8:30pm. Think: “super villain” who is torn on whether or not he still wants to be a super villain. Oh, and he’s blue. It’s a family film, but will entertain all audiences.
The beloved classic, “Forrest Gump,” featuring Tom Hanks, will make its New Republic debut on Thursday, April 27th at 7pm. This Throwback Thursday movie will taste even better with a local brew in your hand. Cold beer on tap will be served starting at 5pm and Big EZ BBQ will be serving up hot a delicious food for guests to enjoy at both movie nights starting at 6pm.
Get a taste of more than 12 Aggie beers including Belgian Tripels, Cherrimono and Warimono, Blonde Ale’s, Coffee Kadigan and Kadigan. Enjoy the family of Red Ale’s which includes the Dammit Jim! original and Dammit Jim Nitro, or mix it up with a blend of American hop, IPA Whipsaw.
