We’re less than a month away from ringing in the new year, and Messina Hof plans to welcome the arrival of 2019 in true Gatsby style! The winery is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration set in the Prohibition era, embracing the underground practices of the more carousing and modern sort from the 1920s.
Held in the winery’s Balcony Gallery Room above The Vintage House Restaurant, guests can enjoy their contemporary freedom to imbibe alcoholic delights and dance the year away to the fullest. The party begins at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 31, and ends an hour into 2019 at 1 a.m. on January 1.
The winery encourages those who attend to dress in the custom of the Jazz Age: it’s time for feathers, short bobs, and flapper dresses! Messina Hof’s Designer Events Coordinator Sarah Fite expands on the vintage vibe, saying, “The main theme of the music will be keeping with the speakeasy ambiance.” Guests will have a chance to be a citizen of the Roaring Twenties for the night by dancing to songs mixed by DJ Tom Byer, enjoying Messina Hof’s vino, and indulging in hearty appetizers by the winery’s own chefs.
For those who wish for further decadence, the party will include a dessert bar to compliment the savored wine. With the purchase of an entrance ticket, those who attend will receive two drink tickets for the occasion. At midnight, Messina Hof offers guests a glass of Texas sparkling wine to toast in the spirit of “Auld Lang Syne.” Fite says the toast will be with “Messina Hof’s Sparkling Moscato, also known as Spumante. We’re really hoping that our guests will be able to have a great time ringing in the new year and enjoying Messina Hof for a great night of fun, dancing and a safe way to make new friends.”
Keep the holidays roaring by getting a ticket to Messina Hof’s New Year’s Cellar Speakeasy party! Tickets are available until 1 p.m. on December 29 and may be purchased from Messina Hof’s website. The cost is $71.21 per person, which includes gratuity and tax.
