This Friday, Lake Bryan welcomes Texas country band Parker Heights as a part of their latest tour. The College Station group formerly known as The FM 2865 Band will be performing on October 14 at Lakeside Icehouse to promote their latest album, “Living The Dream,” that was released in February of this year.

Parker Heights, the local band that consists of four siblings and a close friend, began its journey in 2008 with their debut album, “Dream Big.” They formed the group in 2001 as a six-member family with the name Cool Water Country and in 2006, changed it to The FM 2865 Band. Since then, the band has added new styles and the members have experimented with various instruments; however, they have stayed grounded in the genre of Texas country with an occasional contemporary twist.

Every member has shaped the band’s music and image with his or her own personal style and sense of rhythm, making their sound always unique and colorful. The songs bring out each member’s unique personality, from bass and lyrics to their personality on stage.

The now five-member band has performed at various sites within Texas and has shared the stage with and opened for artists like Kevin Fowler, Cody Johnson, and Jason Allen. It has evolved into a well-known Texas country group that is continuing to grow because of loyal, spirited fans. The Friday concert is the last one they have planned for this tour and performing in Bryan is like performing in their own backyard, which is bound to make it a special show.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Lake Bryan website and at the door for $7. The concert begins at 8pm and doors open at 6:30pm. The Lake Bryan website recommends making table and seat reservations online and in advance, as you will not be able to reserve seats the night of the show. Come out to a fall evening on the lake and support local artists.
