It all began when you were a little kid and your parents took you to an Easter egg hunt. The thrill of finding that oval capsule with pieces of candy trapped inside overwhelmed you. That excitement elevated when you got a little older and participated in scavenger hunts with friends. You and your friends piled in cars and travelled all across the city looking for random objects in a race against the other team. Now, there is a new and exciting adventure for you and your friends to take part in, right here in College Station: Questival.

The Bear Mountain is hosting the 2017 College Station Questival race on November 10-11. Questival is a 24 hour race designed for friends to explore their favorite city and experience the wonders it has to offer. Groups ranging from two to six people will travel across the city and must complete challenges in order to receive points needed to win $10,000 worth of prizes.

The challenges range from fitness-based to service and food-based challenges, and they may require participants get out of their comfort zone. Each challenge is worth either three, six and nine points. Three points are awarded for items such as watching a sunrise, capturing a picture of street art or sending a postcard to a senator. Six points can be earned through actions such as taking a cooking class, dressing up teammates as your parents, and recreating a pivotal memory or crafting a canoe out of cardboard and floating a teammate in it. Earning nine points requires groups to be a bit creative, such as catching a fish with a fly rod, hiking to the nearest waterfall, or donating blood while wearing Dracula teeth.

Interested parties should register online at www.cotopaxi.com/products/questival-college-station-tx-2017, download the free Questival app and wait for the list to be emailed out shortly before the race begins. Check in begins at 6 p.m. on November 10 at The Bear Mountain in College Station.
