The Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival is always a major attraction for Downtown Bryan. But with this year’s musical lineup, we could be in for the biggest year yet.
Wynonna & The Big Noise will headline the festivities, performing Friday, Sept. 28, at 9:30 p.m. on the main stage. The group, led by legendary country star Wynonna Judd, will help kick off Texas Reds with Judd’s powerful vocals and stage presence.
Judd’s career dates back to the early 80s, when she and her mother Naomi rose to fame as the country music duo The Judds. She performed solo for the first time in January, 1992, when she broke out in a big way. Her self-titled debut album included four number one singles, including the number one country song of 1992, “No One Else on Earth.”
Since then, Judd has continued to produce quality music. In 2011, she debuted her new band, Wynonna & The Big Noise, which includes her husband, Cactus Moser, as drummer. The group released their most recent self-titled album in February, 2016.
While Judd’s appearance at Texas Reds is sure to be a crowd pleaser, there are several other exciting acts performing at this year’s event. Clayton Gardner will lead things off, performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday night, also on the main stage.
Saturday will feature an all-day line up, with the iHeartMedia Acoustic Cafe Live Music event. Performances begin at 11 a.m. with Julie Weir and Jacob Ryan Marshall, and will continue every hour. Ben Morris & Eric Fisher of Great American Box Car will end the showcase as they take the stage at 7 p.m. that evening.
The music continues Sunday afternoon as the Greg Tivis Nawlins Jazz Band performs at the Bryan Broadcasting Palace Theater. The show runs from noon until 3 p.m. A full list of performances and the festival schedule can be found on Texas Reds’ website.
As always, Texas Reds will be a must-attend event. Don’t miss your chance to see Wynonna & The Big Noise, as well as all of the other performers. Get your tickets today!
