Missed out on the New York Fashion Week festivities? No worries: a small taste of Fashion Week is coming to you and the Bryan/College Station area. From the areas hottest designers, to the in-style boutiques, and accompanied with a special cause, “The Fashion Event” is sure to be one you won’t want to miss. This three day event will not only showcase local designers and boutiques, but also radio stations, papers, and local businesses  all while bringing the community together in a multitude of ways.

Presented by Caldwell Country Chevrolet, “The Fashion Event” is to be held March 30 through April 1, while benefitting “The Mercy Project.” This organization is working hard daily to end child enslavement in Africa through building relationships with locals, freeing enslaved children, and creating ways to create labor and jobs, without including the children that live in the villages of Ghana, Africa. All proceeds generated over the course of the events starting Thursday night and wrapping up Saturday evening will directly benefit “The Mercy Project” in their constant fight to end child slavery. To learn more on their current strategies, to read the full story of how this organization came to life, or to donate directly to “The Mercy Project,” please visit: www.mercyproject.net.

Designers William McNair and Chloe Dao will kick the event off Thursday, along with local boutiques, Tres Chic, Southern Jewlz, and Charli. Friday evening features designers Charles Smith II along with Stephen Goudeau – along with the two designers, the following boutiques will also be featured: Dusty Diamonds Boutique, Witt’s End, Texas Rose Boutique, and B-Unique boutique. Both, Thursday and Friday, there will be refreshments served to pair with your fashion viewing. Saturday evening presents the VIP event with designers Debbie Porter and Onyii Brown. A plethora of boutiques will be featured: KIE Men’s Shoppe, Sabi Boutique, and J&L boutique, and Anything Bling Boutique. Accompanying them will also be David Gardner’s Jewelers and Gemologists.

Each night, the events will be held at The Icehouse in Downtown Bryan and the doors will open at 6:30pm. Tickets are on sale now, and prices start at $50 for the first two nights and are $150 for the final night, which is also the VIP event.
